Ingredients
4 Trident Alaska Salmon Burgers
4 brioche or burger buns, toasted
1 Tbsp olive oil
2 medium yellow onions, thinly sliced
1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 tsp brown sugar
¼ tsp salt
Burger Spread:
⅓ cup mayo
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp lemon juice
To Serve:
1 cup baby arugula or mixed greens
Optional: sliced tomato or pickled onions
Directions
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 12–15 minutes until golden and soft. Stir in brown sugar and balsamic vinegar and cook another 2–3 minutes until glossy. Set aside.
In a clean skillet or grill pan, cook the Trident Alaska Salmon Burgers according to package instructions—typically 4–5 minutes per side over medium heat, until heated through and browned.
In a small bowl, stir together mayo, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice until smooth.
Spread the mayo mixture on both sides of each toasted bun. Add arugula to the bottom bun, top with a salmon burger, a generous spoonful of caramelized onions, and any optional toppings. Place the top bun and serve immediately.
