We proudly participate in some of the most sustainable fisheries in the world. For decades we’ve harvested responsibly from Alaskan waters so we know stewardship and we apply that first-hand experience when sourcing globally.

Seafood ranks as having one of the lowest total impacts to the environment. Whether fished locally, or sourced globally, our objective is the same: to ensure our customers receive the safest, highest-quality, and healthiest seafood from the source to the plate.
Ever since founder Chuck Bundrant launched our first boat in 1973, Trident continues to thrive only because of the hard work and sacrifice of our captains and crews. Fishermen are the foundation of our business. Their concerns are our concerns. Our entire support center is dedicated to providing the services they need to operate safely and successfully.
Alaska is our lifeblood, and with 34,000 miles of coastline and pristine waters, it’s no surprise that commercial fisheries fuel the state’s economic engine. After 40 years we’re proud to be an integral part of 10 coastal communities in Alaska and are committed to the long-term health of each one. We apply that spirit to our presence in communities worldwide.

Trident contributes to charitable organizations such as the American Heart Association, SeaShare, the Seattle Fishermen’s Memorial, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and participates in charitable events such as the Puget Sound Heart and Stroke Walk, the Race for the Cure, Relay for Life, and so many more. It is important to our values and culture that we support and invest in our local communities where we fish and work. Simply put, we take care of each other.

How we fish today affects the quality of our food and the health of coastal fishing communities tomorrow. The US North Pacific and Bering Sea have notoriously well-managed fisheries based on sound science and robust governance. We actively participate in regional and federal fisheries management processes and support research to keep our fisheries and communities healthy and thriving.
We respect our surrounding environment the same way we respect fisheries — by honoring our responsibility in the way we use resources. Because we process as well as harvest seafood, we can hold ourselves to a higher standard of accountability – we are constantly innovating to reduce the environmental footprint of vessel and shore operations.
With more than 40 years of hands-on experience, responsible seafood practices are the core of our business. For seafood we don’t catch ourselves, we stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our partners to to make informed sourcing decisions. Whether harvesting locally or carefully selecting global suppliers, ultimately, what’s best for the source is better for us, better for you, and better for the planet.
Our longstanding reputation as a trusted resource in the seafood industry is based on following objective science. For customers that require external verification, we offer two options to make certification claims: Alaska Responsible Fisheries Management (RFM) and the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).
Fish is likely the single most important food we can eat for good health. It’s better for our bodies, our minds, and the environment than any other animal protein. Fish is the way to nourish ourselves without neglecting the earth in the process.
The clock starts ticking the moment the fish comes over the rail. Our success depends on getting the most out of every fish caught. We’re quite good at fully utilizing nature’s bounty — yielding the freshest sustainable sources for our fish oil or pet treats, held to the same high level of accountability as all our products.
“From the Source to the Plate” has been our motto since 1973. Because we harvest, process, and innovate, in many instances we’re involved in every step of the supply chain. This means we’re able to maintain a high level of control over product quality and guarantee product integrity.
As we strive to provide the world with the safest and highest quality seafood available, nothing but the best will do. We apply our high standards to our business partners and products — all our fish are subject to rigorous food safety and quality protocols.
In addition to our own internal food safety and quality systems and standards, we comply with federal and state regulatory agencies, industry-wide safety rules and principles, and independent third-party globally benchmarked standards. All so we can guarantee that when Trident seafood is on the plate, it’s the very best.
