The following Lunar New Year message comes from the desk of Joe Bundrant, CEO of Trident Seafoods
Personal growth, opportunity, confidence and success.
These are things I wish for all people everywhere, and according to Chinese astrology, they're coming our way as we prepare to welcome the Year of the Wood Dragon on February 10, the start of the Lunar New Year.
Lunar New Year—also known as Chinese New Year or Spring Festival in China—celebrates the arrival of spring and the beginning of a new year on the lunar calendar. For billions of people around the world, it’s an important holiday that is celebrated with family reunions, rich cultural traditions, dancing and fireworks.
As we enter the Year of the Wood Dragon, I extend my best wishes to all who celebrate.
The Dragon: A symbol of strength and fortune
The Dragon is considered the luckiest year in the Chinese zodiac. Dragon years are associated with accomplishment, longevity, success, celebrations and wealth. If that's what this year brings, it should be a prosperous time indeed for Trident and all of us.
I encourage you to be bold and brave while exhibiting compassion and open-mindedness...
We can use this as an opportunity to reflect on how we might embody some of the traits associated with the coming year. I have read that Dragon years fare well for those with a competitive and optimistic spirit, so I encourage you to be bold and brave while exhibiting compassion and open-mindedness. Make your mark. After all, change is what we’re after, and the dragon is here to help as we boldly chart a new path for Trident and our industry.
To all those celebrating the Lunar New Year, I wish you and your loved ones peace, prosperity, and good health.
Xin Nian Hao
Happy New Year.
