Snow Crab has a sweet, delicate flavor, snowy-white meat and tender texture. Snow Crab is a bountiful resource from the clean, clear icy waters of Alaska. Snow Crab compares well with lobster and King Crab but is much more affordable.
Snow crab is sensational served chilled as a cocktail. Steaming, sautéing or broiling will also bring out its delicate flavor. Serve snow crab with butter sauces, sweet & sour, oriental dips, or herbed vinegars. Also makes great salads.
Preparation and Cooking
Heat before serving: boil, steam or broil for 4 minutes or bake in 400° f oven for 4 minutes
Steam: bring water to boil in steam pot, place steam basket of crab in pot and cover. Reduce heat and steam frozen crab 5-8 minutes, thawed crab for 4 minutes. Serve hot with drawn butter or your favorite dipping sauce.
Keep frozen at 0 F or below until ready for use. To thaw, cover and refrigerate 8-10 hours.
