Alaskan Flounder (Rock Sole) Fillet 2 oz Deep Skinned, PBO 411296
"Flounder" and "Sole" are interchangeable terms and can be used to fit the regional preferences of patrons. Alaska Flounder is highly valued for its delicate, mild flavor and tendr texture. The meat is pure white, boneless and flaky. Naturally low in fat and high in protein, Alaska Flounder is a very lean fish. Its is well suited for elaborate presentations such as stuffed and rolled, as well as simple seasonings with lemon juice.
Serve as Main Entree with Wild Rice and Vegetables. Also Good in Sandwich, Salads, or Casseroles.
Preparation and Cooking
Allow 10 minutes of cooking time per inch of thickness on thawed product; 20 minutes per inch on frozen product.
BAKE: 350 – 400°F
BROIL: 4 inches from broiler heat or pan fry medium-high for 10 minutes per inch of thawed product (20 minutes per inch of frozen product).
*Internal temperature should be at least 145°F. We strive to produce a fully “boneless” product. As with all fish, however, occasional bones may still be present.
Keep frozen at 0°F or below until ready to use.
Thawing instructions: Remove all packaging. Place on tray or plate. Cover with a plastic wrap or wax paper and thaw in refrigerator for 16 – 24 hours.
Keep thawed product refrigerated and use within 2 – 3 days.
